Buffalo Mass Shooter Was Terrified Of COVID, Wore A Hazmat Suit To School Over Virus Fears5/19/2022 Credit to FOX 7 Article by Haddon Lockyer Payton Gendron, the 18 year old suspected of killing 10 people at a Buffalo, NY, grocery store last Saturday, was so horrified of contracting COVID-19 that he wore a full hazmat suit to school once in-person classes resumed. According to Gendron's extended family, Gendron "likely snapped" because of COVID lockdowns and isolation. Sandra Komoroff, a 68-year-old cousin of Gendron's mother, said that he was "very paranoid about getting COVID" and that he "bought into the fear." "I have no idea how he could have gotten caught up in this. I blame it on COVID. He was very paranoid about getting COVID, extremely paranoid, to the point that his friends were saying he would wear the hazmat suit [to school]." Komoroff also said that Gendron and his family were "vaxxed to the max," but he recently contracted COVID anyway. "And then he got COVID just a few weeks ago... He went to family functions with a respirator mask on. He totally wasn't going to get COVID, and then he got COVID. They were vaxxed to the max. I don't know if it was a bad case, I just know he caught it." Fox News Digital obtained a photo of Gendron in his hazmat suit at school. See below:
Aside from Komoroff's account and the photographic evidence, The New York Times contacted one of Gendron's former classmates, Nathan Twitchell, who backed Komoroff's claim. "He wore the entire suit: boots, gloves, everything." The New York Times also obtained a yearbook photo of Gendron with a caption that reads "Most Interesting Mask." The news of Gendron's "radicalization" during the COVID pandemic notes the effect that total lockdowns and restrictions had on the mental health of many Americans, especially those who had mental problems to begin. Officials are considering Gendron's shooting spree to be a racially-motivated hate crime based on statements from his 180-page "manifesto" that has been circulating online. In the wake of the attack, liberal media outlets blamed Republicans for the attack, falsely accusing top Republicans of supporting (and leading Gendron to support) "The Great Replacement conspiracy theory," which states that an elite group of Jews are importing "brown people" into America to eradicate the "white race." Gendron, however, is a self-described member of the "authoritarian left," who chose to hold his shooting spree in New York because of their strict gun control laws. Gendron claimed that it was an "ease" to him to know that he wouldn't encounter anyone legally armed with firearms strong enough to stop him. From his alleged manifesto:
"When I was 12 I was deep into communist ideology, talk to anyone from my old highschool [sic] and ask about me and you will hear that.” And on his decision to choose New York as the state for the massacre: "...NY has heavy gun laws so it would ease me if I knew that any legally armed civilian was limited to 10 round magazines or cucked firearms." Gendron is also a self-described neo-Nazi and racist. He chose the Tops in Buffalo because of its location (a predominantly black neighborhood).
