Credit to KTAR News Article by Haddon Lockyer "Be safe, take care, and do not let your guard down even after you have been vaccinated." Arizona State Representative Alma Hernandez, D-Tucson, released a statement April 28th stating that she has tested positive for COVID-19, despite being fully vaccinated. Her statement is below: Hernandez claims that she, "has taken COVID-19 very seriously and have worn my mask, washed my hands, and socially distanced." As the media began to hear about Hernandez's positive test, she took to Twitter to continue to push the vaccine. As a public health professional, I'm in no way advocating for you NOT to get vaccinated. If you haven't, do ASAP. This is just to REMIND you a vaccination does not mean immunity to contracting #Covid. Hoping my symptoms don't worsen; however, I'm very fortunate to be vaccinated GN However, if Hernandez's definition of the COVID vaccine is the real definition, then the COVID-19 vaccine is not a vaccine at all. According to Oxford Languages, a vaccine is "a substance used to stimulate the production of antibodies and provide immunity against one or several diseases, prepared from the causative agent of a disease, its products, or a synthetic substitute, treated to act as an antigen without inducing the disease." "...provide immunity..." As of now, Hernandez is set to quarantine until next week.
