On Monday night, at the beginning of her debate with Georgia's Republican Governor Brian Kemp, leftist candidate Stacey Abrams claimed that she had quickly acknowledged and admitted that Kemp had defeated her after the two ran against each other in 2018. She stated on television that "I began my speech on November 16 [2018] acknowledging that Gov. Kemp had won the election."
Unfortunately, that statement is untrue. In reality, Abrams spent months after her loss claiming election fraud was the cause. However, throughout her 2022 campaign, Abrams hasattempted to make the public forget about her election-denying past. Abrams tried that strategy again on Tuesday evening after she stepped onstage to debate Kemp, whom she is running against once again. However, the Republican National Committee's Twitter, known as the "RNC Research" page, was prepared. The account shared over five minutes worth of Abrams denying her loss, releasing the compilation just minutes before the debate began. Below are five examples of times that Abrams made statements denying her rejection by voters. #1: "I Did Win My Election..."Shortly after the Kemp family moved into the governor's mansion in 2019, Abrams told a crowd that she had, in fact, won her election, but that she "just didn't get to have the job." "I did win my election, I just didn't get to have the job." #2: "I Didn't Lose."During an interview on The Grio, Abrams stated that she "got the votes" and that she "didn't lose." "I didn't lose. I got the votes, but we won't know exactly how many because of how they cheated."
#3: "We Won."Speaking to attendees at the National Action Network's main convention in 2019, Abrams said that "despite the final tally and inauguration... we won." "Despite the final tally and the inauguration, I do have one very affirmative statement to make. We won." #4: "I Will Not Concede"

She did not admit her defeat in 2018, and she has yet to ever officially concede. Instead, she directly refused to concede "because the erosion of our democracy is not right." “This is not a speech of concession.”
#5: "The System Is Rigged"

In 2019, while pondering a senate run, Abrams told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that "the system is rigged" against her. “The system is rigged.”
