Instagram Temporarily Removes Account of Mother of Fallen U.S. Soldier After Posting About Her Son8/31/2021 Credit to Shana Chappell Article by Haddon Lockyer When you have insane algorithms that push censorship, you may accidentally delete some important things. Shana Chappell, mother of fallen U.S. marine Kareem Nikoui, who was killed in the suicide bombing at the Kabul airport, had her Instagram account disabled after posting a picture and message regarding her son. Chapell said that after she posted the picture of her son, Instagram began flagging her posts from months before, claiming that if she continued to post similar things, her account would be deleted. “As soon as I posted about what happened to my son Instagram started pulling up my posts from months ago and sending me notifications that if I kept posting stuff like this that they would disable my account. Posts from months ago!” In the post, she shared a picture of her IG post, but it had also been blocked by Facebook. Credit to Breitbart News Following outrage over the incident, Instagram restored the account, claiming that they had made a mistake, and that her post did not violate any of the platform's policies. “We express our deepest condolences to Ms. Chappell and her family. Her tribute to her heroic son does not violate any of our policies. While the post was not removed, her account was incorrectly deleted and we have since restored it.” The problem is that, since embracing censorship, the platform has implemented strict algorithms that have been making these "mistakes" more and more often. Recently, for example, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), was temporarily kicked from Twitter for posting something that did not violate the platform's guidelines. Twitter restored her account and apologized. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg Credit to CNBC As social medias continue to silence Conservatives, including President Donald Trump, expect to continue to see these "mistakes." Until the censor algorithms are removed, the platforms will continue to remove posts that they have no business removing.
