Credit to Verdict Article by Haddon Lockyer A Texas landowner has offered Twitter's new owner, Elon Musk, 100 acres of land to move Twitter's headquarters from liberal California to the Lone Star State. Farmer and CEO of Schwertner Farms, Jim Schwertner, took to Twitter on Tuesday to offer Musk the land. The real estate is in a prime area, sitting just 38 miles north of Austin, TX, in Williamson County. Schwertner's tweet read: "Elon Musk, Move Twitter to Schwertner, TX. 38 Miles North of Austin in Williamson County, and we will give you 100 Acres for FREE" Schwertner's tweet received hundreds of likes and was noticed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R), who shared his message to Musk. Abbott initially invited Twitter (under the ownership of Musk) to move to Twitter on Monday, just after news broke that Twitter had accepted Musk's offer to buy Twitter for $44 billion. Three of Musk's major companies operate out of Texas: Tesla, SpaceX, and The Boring Co. Musk first announced his plans to move Tesla out of California during the COVID-19 pandemic, citing CA Gov. Gavin Newsom's (D) draconian COVID restrictions as the reasons for the move. Newsom's office, seemingly threatened by speculation about Twitter moving to Texas, said this to Cal Matters: “Even after Elon Musk announced Tesla’s move to Texas, they expanded in California. And Elon has started all of his businesses in California, presumably because he knows this is where innovation and talent lives. … Governor Abbott should focus on the people and business whose employees feel threatened, attacked and intimidated by his misogynistic and anti-LGBTQ agenda." Credit to Fox Business Musk was avidly against California's ridiculous COVID mandates and lockdowns, so much so that he reopened operations in California even when restrictions were still in place. He then said he was ready to be arrested if necessary to stop the unscientific mandates. Musk's deal for Twitter was accepted by the Twitter board on Monday. Musk bought the company for over $54 a share, several dollars over its stock value. Musk, a free-speech advocate, has announced that he will be reducing censorship on the social media giant. He has also discussed making Twitter's algorithms available for public viewing to increase transparency in the company. Have something to say about this article? Comment below!
