Even though Republicans did not see as much of a "red wave" as they had expected in the House of Representatives and the Senate, GOP candidates in nationwide school board elections did extremely well, flipping multiple boards from blue to red.
During Tuesday's long-awaited midterm election, conservative candidates defeated liberal challengers in both Republican and Democrat controlled states. Voters turned at least nine boards red across several states as parents flocked to the polls to make their voices heard, according to two parental rights groups who have been working to elect right-leaning candidates for months. According to the organizations Moms For Liberty & the 1776 Project PAC, GOP school board victories were present in Michigan, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, New Jersey, and, least surprisingly, Florida. The nine key board victories are listed below:
These aren't the groups' only victories, however. According to the 1776 Project PAC, over 100 school boards have turned conservative over the course of the past year.

Speaking before the election, Moms For Liberty encouraged mothers to "vote like a mom." It seems their advice was taken. “There’s no truer love than that of a mother for their child. When we say ‘vote like a mother,’ it means vote, unabashedly for parental rights and for your children’s future. Don’t allow the hate or the noise to take you away from what you know to be true and right and good.”
Schools have been the main battlefield for the "culture wars" since early 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic shut education down nationwide. After liberal school board members pushed mask & vaccine mandates, conservative and independent parents became more involved, leading to protests at board meetings in nearly every state.
Topics of debate in the schools have varied; COVID mandates, LGBT teachings, and critical race theory, however, were major issues amongst parents. To some, Tuesday's "red wave" over school boards was a sign that fighting cultural issues is highly important if conservative candidates want to win in 2024. This was further shown by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis's massive reelection victory over Democrat Charlie Crist on Tuesday. Informed Youth CEO Haddon Lockyer noted Saturday in a tweet that the board victories proved that "stopping LGBTQIA$&+-1/3 indoctrination & mandates in schools is a big deal to Americans."
Many expect these key cultural issues to be highly influential in the 2024 presidential election. Have comments? Share them below. Recently, The Informed Youth announced our Insiders initiative. Conservatives, see factual information about the complicated truth they don't want to hear and try not to call it "indoctination" challenge. Level: impossible. 0% completion rate
