Credit to Forbes Article by Haddon Lockyer On Wednesday, Former President Donald Trump announced his plans to sue multiple media outlets, including CNN, who he says have "defamed and defrauded the public" with dishonest coverage of the 2020 election. In one of his "Save America" press releases, Trump stated that he has "notified CNN" of his plans to file suit and added that he will be "commencing actions against other media outlets" as well. The 45th president wrote: “I have notified CNN of my intent to file a lawsuit over their repeated defamatory statements against me. I will also be commencing actions against other media outlets who have defamed me and defrauded the public regarding the overwhelming evidence of fraud throughout the 2020 Election. I will never stop fighting for the truth and for the future of our Country!” Trump has decided to use Washington-based law firm Ifrah Law in his fight against the media networks. The firm, who sent the Notice of Intent that Trump mentioned in his statement, also sent a 26-page letter and hundreds of pages of exhibits to CNN. In the initial statments, Trump and his legal team gave CNN a deadline to apologize for their statemens by Sunday. A portion of the notice reads:
“After the 2016 election, various members of the Democratic party gave numerous televised statements claiming the 2016 election was illegitimate. This included suggestions about Russian interference causing President Trump to win the election and regular referrals to President Trump being an ‘illegitimate’ President. CNN repeatedly allowed for assertions that President Trump was illegitimately elected to go largely unchallenged, including statements made by Hillary Clinton, Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, Jimmy Carter, Jerry Nadler, John Lewis, Dianne Feinstein, Marcia Fudge, and Debbie Wasserman Schultz.” Credit to CNN
This comes as CNN's new president, Chris Licht, wants to move the network away from their ultra-liberal standpoint and return to less biased programming. Have comments? Share them below.
