He also promised to reinstate & give back pay to all U.S. military members who were fired for refusing to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. Trump's vow came Tuesday evening as the 45th president announced a 2024 campaign for the presidency from his Mar-A-Lago resort. Speaking to a crowd of his closest supporters and friends, Trump said: “As Commander in Chief, I will get Biden’s radical left ideology out of our military. And I did. I did, and in the first day they put it back. They signed the executive order and they put it back. It was gone." Trump's military plans are a part of his 2024 "National Greatness Agenda."
Credit to The New York Times Under the direction of Biden, the Pentagon began enforcing COVID vaccine mandates on soldiers last year, leading to much controversy and criticism. In September, the Pentagon stated that they would continue to enforce the mandate, stating that approximately 100,000 soldiers were facing being discharged. Though the vaccine was created under the Trump administration, Trump has been a staunch opponent of the vaccine mandates that have been pushed by left-leaning politicians, and the mandate will not stand if he is elected to serve another four years as president in 2024.
