Credit to ExperienceFirst Article by Haddon Lockyer Whoops. 899 people were administered expired doses of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine, officials say. The vaccines were given out at the former "NFL Experience" building in New York City's Times Square. They were given out over a period of six days, from June 5th to June 10th. The 899 vaccine recipients received an emergency notice about the incident from the pop-up vaccination site's operator. Read the statement from David Savitsky below: “We are contacting you concerning the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine you received at Times Square – NFL Experience vaccination site on June 5 to June 10, 2021. It was recognized after the vaccine was administered, that it had been in the freezer beyond the approved time frame prior to it being administered." New York City's Mayor, Bill de Blasio, has been aggressively pushing vaccinations, as has NY Governor Andrew Cuomo. However, in their rush to vaccinate, they have hired unqualified officials to run these pop-up vaccination sites. According to the New York Post, three of the 899 vaccine recipients, a father and his two daughters were furious after receiving the email from Savitsky and a call from ATC Vaccination Services, because "the guy who called wasn't even a doctor." The call from ATC Vaccination services informed the recipients that they must be vaccinated again, as they "cannot guarantee the effectiveness" of the expired doses. The father went on to criticize the late discovery, saying, “It’s a 6 day period of time!!!! Nobody noticed?!?!?” ATC Vaccination Services assured that “there should be no adverse health consequences from the vaccine already received. “ However, Savitsky did tell the patients that they could be given a correct dose immediately in the opposite arm. As of now, the pop-up vaccination center remains opened, but ATC Vaccination Services has been replaced as the vaccine operator, per Mayor de Blasio's office. Credit to Johns Hopkins Medicine
